Greetings in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the One to whom Father has given the nations as his inheritance. I was asked by my colleagues to write this cover letter and to include a brief introduction of myself as the visionary and initiator of this prayer call. As soon as numbers of you have been informed about this initiative, it has been as though doing this prayer call is a heart’s desire for you…it is indeed a ministry which is being birthed just at the right time.

I am Ted Sandquist, 73 years old now, married to Dawn for almost 49 years and the father of four married children and grandfather of seventeen. I went to college and grad school in the 60’s and helped start a church in the Jesus Movement in 1970, where I pastored until 1995. I had been active in the nations for fifteen years plus at that time and left my local church responsibilities for fulltime focus on the nations I was called to serve. After eight years of travel about 80% of the time, much spiritual warfare and a measure of burnout, I took responsibility for another congregation for twelve years until my oldest son took the reins five years ago and released me to focus on the nations and prayer in this phase. Woven throughout these decades I have written and recorded worship music and authored several books.

The vision for this Inter3/In2 prayer call came to me in December of 2020. Who am I to initiate something like this? Only a willing servant who has been prepared to pray for the Latin nations of the Western Hemisphere for decades in terms of the Kingdom of God. This task has not come to this starting place without significant help from others and it shall not move forward without significant participation from others of His servants. That is as it should be; thanks be to God.

The destiny of these nations is in the heart of our God. It is in the hearts of His people. It is in the very center of the Gospel. It is in the sights of this prayer focus as it is in the scriptures we will pray and the Spirit of our God by whom we are moved and sustained.

There will be many people from all these nations and more whom the Lord will employ in this spiritual war for liberation…the liberation for which we are praying…the liberation of individuals; the liberation of families and linages; the liberation of towns, cities and nations; the liberation of people groups, societies, institutions and cultures; the liberation from idols, memes, lies, philosophies of man, doctrines of demons, worldviews of the fallen, sub-cultures of evil; dominions of darkness and all that is fundamentally anti-Christ – that would be anti-Christ Jesus the Lord. We who are interceding together for these things are carrying one significant, irreplaceable piece of the fight for these nations’ transformation, for liberation from modern day Pharaohs, the sway of the religious bondages dominating people in these nations and from the tasks of slavery perpetrated in the daily lives of the people in Latin America. But let us see as we do our warring that this hope for which we pray in faith will be brought about by those who volunteer freely in the day of the Lord in families, churches, education, media, arts, entertainment, sports, business and commerce, science, technology, law and civil government…let us pray!
